Questions about Odoo

Short, honest answers to what business owners ask before they start.

What is Odoo?

Odoo is business software that runs sales, stock, purchasing, accounting, HR and more in one system. It's made by Odoo S.A. in Belgium and comes as separate apps that share the same data. Companies start with the apps they need and add more later.

What does ERP mean?

ERP stands for Enterprise Resource Planning. In plain words, it's one system for the whole company, so sales, the warehouse, accounting and HR work on the same data instead of separate files and programs. Odoo is an ERP system.

How much does an Odoo implementation cost?

The cost of an Odoo project depends on the number of apps and users, whether you choose Community or Enterprise, how much customization you need, and how much data has to move. Enterprise also has a yearly or monthly subscription paid to Odoo, and hosting has its own cost. AIODYX gives you a written estimate after a free consultation and a study of your needs.

How long does it take to implement Odoo?

It depends on the number of apps, the amount of data and how much customization is needed. A small company using standard Odoo apps usually goes live within a few weeks. Larger projects with manufacturing, many branches or heavy customization can take several months.

Can I keep my data from Excel or my old system?

Yes. Customers, suppliers, products, opening balances, open invoices and stock quantities can be moved into Odoo from Excel or from most other systems. AIODYX cleans and checks the data with you before go-live. Older transaction history can be imported or kept in the old system, depending on how much you need it.

Does Odoo work in Arabic?

Yes. Odoo has a full Arabic interface that reads right to left, and each user can choose Arabic or English. Invoices and other documents can be printed in the customer's language.

Can I use Odoo on my phone?

Yes. Odoo works in any phone or tablet browser, and there are Odoo apps for iPhone and Android. Salespeople, managers and employees can check data, approve requests and log hours from their phones.

Should we host Odoo in the cloud or on our own server?

Both work. Odoo Online is hosted by Odoo and is the simplest option, but it doesn't allow custom code. Odoo.sh is Odoo's cloud for companies that need custom development. Your own server gives you full control, but someone has to maintain it. AIODYX helps you choose based on your needs and budget.

How do Odoo user licenses work?

Odoo Community is free and has no user fees. Odoo Enterprise is a subscription paid per user, and the price depends on the plan and the number of users. Customers and suppliers who only use the Odoo online portal don't need a paid user.

Which is better for us, Odoo Community or Enterprise?

Odoo Community is free and covers sales, purchasing, inventory, invoicing, POS, manufacturing and projects. Odoo Enterprise adds full accounting, payroll, Studio and other apps, plus version upgrades. The right choice depends on the apps you need and your budget, and AIODYX compares both for your case.

Do we have to use all of Odoo's apps?

No. You can start with one or two Odoo apps, like Sales and Accounting, and add Inventory, HR or a website later. New apps connect to the data you already have, so you don't start over.

Does Odoo support ZATCA e-invoicing in Saudi Arabia?

Yes. Odoo's Saudi localization supports ZATCA e-invoicing, including phase 2, the integration phase with the Fatoora platform. AIODYX sets up the connection, runs the compliance checks with ZATCA, and tests your invoices before you switch it on.

Does Odoo work with JoFotara in Jordan?

Yes. Odoo has a Jordan e-invoicing module that sends invoices to JoFotara, Jordan's national e-invoicing system. It needs a recent Odoo version. AIODYX sets it up with your JoFotara access details and tests it before you start issuing invoices through it.

What support do we get after go-live?

AIODYX stays with you after go-live for questions, fixes, small changes and Odoo version upgrades. The first weeks after launch get closer attention, because that's when most questions come up. The support plan is agreed with you based on your size and needs.

Can Odoo be customized?

Yes. Odoo can be changed with new fields, reports, printed layouts, workflows and connections to other systems. AIODYX uses standard Odoo features first and customizes only what you really need, because every custom change adds cost and work at upgrade time.

Will my team be able to use Odoo?

Yes, with the right training. AIODYX trains each team on the Odoo screens it actually uses, with your own data, in Arabic or English. We also train key users in your company who can help colleagues after go-live.

Can Odoo handle more than one branch or company?

Yes. Odoo can run several companies, branches and warehouses in one system, each with its own accounts if needed, and in more than one currency. Owners can look at each one separately or at all of them together.

Is our data safe in Odoo?

On Odoo Online and Odoo.sh, Odoo hosts your data and takes care of backups. On your own server, backups and security are your responsibility or your partner's. In every setup, each Odoo user sees only what their access rights allow.

What happens in the free consultation?

In the free consultation with AIODYX, you tell us how your company works today and what's slowing you down. We tell you whether Odoo fits, which apps you'd likely need, and what the next steps are. There's no commitment.
