Manufacturing
Plan production and know what each product really costs.
Who it's forFactory owners, production managers and planners who need to see what to make, what's missing and what it costs.

What it does day to day
- Define a bill of materials for each product, meaning its components and quantities.
- Create manufacturing orders from sales orders or from minimum stock levels.
- Check that components are available before you start, and order what's missing.
- Plan work across machines and production lines, with the time each step takes.
- Record what was used, what was produced and what was scrapped.
- Send part of the work to subcontractors and track the materials you sent them.
- See the actual cost of each production run, including materials, labor and machine time.

- Components available
- Draft until confirmed
Inside the system
The state of each manufacturing order, and whether its components are available.

What changes for you
Production stops running on paper and phone calls. Planners know which orders can start today and which are waiting for materials. Owners see the real cost per unit, so prices come from numbers instead of estimates.
How it works with the other apps
Sales orders can trigger production. Manufacturing pulls components from Inventory and adds finished products back. Missing components can trigger Purchase, and production costs flow into Accounting.
Common questions
Does Odoo work for small workshops, or only big factories?
Both. A small workshop can start with simple bills of materials and manufacturing orders, then add work centers and planning later.
Can it handle quality checks?
Yes, through the Quality app, which is part of Enterprise. You set checks at specific steps and record the results.
Can we trace batches from raw material to finished product?
Yes. Odoo tracks lots and serial numbers through production, so you can see which batch of material went into which product.
